			<abstract>
			Aims: COVID-19 is associated with infection and high death rate. The unresolved questions about the fatality rate of COVID-19 is most probably related to cytokine storm syndrome. There is currently no specific medication. Understanding the laboratory diagnostic tests will&#160;lead to&#160;the production&#160;of treatment and decreases of death rate. The aim of this study was to&#160;investigate the changes of peripheral blood parameters (Interleukin-6, Ferritin and hematological parameters) in COVID-19 patients
Materials &#38; Methods: In this descriptive-comparative study, data was collected from 270 subjects in two groups according to RT-PCR test results, including 133 COVID-19 patients and 137 non-COVID-19 patients, between March 20 and May 21, 2020. The clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of patients were collected from electronic Health Information Systems using data collection forms in Shahid Jalil Hospital of Yasuj University of medical sciences, Yasuj, Iran. The data were analyzed by SPSS software version 20. Chi-square, Mann-Whitney tests and Pearson&#39;s correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data.
Findings: There were no significant differences in the age and sex ratio between two groups. The mean IL-6 and Ferritin levels and hematological parameters between COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients were significantly different (p=0.001).
Conclusion: The coronavirus affects the inflammatory markers specifically IL-6 and Ferritin and hematological parameters (WBC, Lymphocytes, Neutrophils, Platelet and Hb).

			<abstract>
			&#160;Aims: Endotracheal suctioning is the most effective way to clear discharge and maintain open airway. This is usually done by nurses. This study aimed to determine the effect of combinational changes of catheter size and its related suction negative pressure on hemodynamic parameters of patients undergoing mechanical ventilation.
Materials &#38; Methods: In this clinical trial study, thirty-five patients undergoing ventilators were eligible for inclusion were selected by available sampling method. Endotracheal suctioning was performed for each patient 4 times with at least 2 hours interval by catheter 10 and 12 and negative pressures of 100 and 150 were used. Hemodynamic parameters of all patients were recorded immediately before, immediately after, 10 and 20 minutes after each intervention. The data were then analyzed using SPSS 21 and ANOVA with repeated measures.
Findings: Suctioning with catheters 10 and 12 at pressures of 100 and 150 increased the hemodynamic parameters immediately after endotracheal suction. These increases was significant in systolic blood pressure (p=0.004) and mean arterial blood pressure (p=0.01). This test showed a statistically significant difference between intervention and intra-intervention in mean arterial oxygen saturation at post-suction time (p=0.001).
Conclusion: Although the catheter 12 and pressure 100 and 150 indicated a greater increase in hemodynamic parameters at the time immediately after endotracheal suctioning, the changes are minor and within the normal range and decreased 10 and 20 minutes after the procedure and approached pre-suction time.

			<abstract>
			Aims: Several studies investigated the association of ACE&#160;I/D polymorphism with the risk and severity of COVID-19 infection.&#160; However, the information in each of the published studies is limited, and the results were inconsistent or even contradictory. Accordingly, this meta-analysis evaluated the association between ACE&#160;I/D polymorphism and COVID-19 susceptibility and severity. 
Materials &#38; Methods: Two investigators independently searched the PubMed, Embase, Google Scholar, Scopus, and Science Direct databases. Five studies including 1029 cases and 3561 controls were retrieved to evaluate the association between&#160;ACE&#160;I/D polymorphism and&#160;the&#160;risk of&#160;COVID-19. Furthermore, a meta-analysis of the correlation between the ACE&#160;I/D variant and&#160;the&#160;severity of&#160;infection covered 5 case-control studies, including 264 sever-cases and 447 mild cases. 
Findings: There was no association between the ACE&#160;I/D variant in all genetic models and COVID-19 susceptibility. However, our analysis revealed that there was a significant association between ACE&#160;I/D variant in the allele contrast (95% CI=0.5291-0.8353; p&#60;0.001), recessive (95% CI=0.4268-0.9172; p=0.01) and dominant (95% CI=0.3974-0.8092; p=0.001) models and severity of COVID-19. 
Conclusion: ACE&#160;I/D polymorphism is associated with the severity of COVID-19 infection. There is no association between the ACE&#160;I/D variant in all genetic models and COVID-19 susceptibility.

			<abstract>
			Aims: Urinary Tract Infection is common in Children. It has reported that Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction lead to progression of urinary tract infection in patients. Thus, early diagnosis and treatment of Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction are essential. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the bladder and bowel dysfunction in children less than age 14 with a urinary tract infection admitted to Yasuj hospitals in 2019-2020.
Instrument &#38; Methods: The present study employed a cross-sectional, descriptive-analytical research method. The research population consisted of children under age 14 with a urinary tract infection (UTI) hospitalized in Yasuj hospitals in 2019-2020. Data were extracted from the files of hospitalized patients, and collected using a checklist. The data was analyzed using SPSS 21 software at two descriptive (mean, frequency, and percentage) and inferential (chi-squared test) levels. 
Findings: There was significant difference between the girls and boys in, urinary tract infection (53.4% girls VS 46.4% boys; p=0.032). The mean age of participants was 6&#177;2.3 years. The prevalence of Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction was 41%. The most common symptoms of BBD include Constipation &#38; urinary retention 15 (14.6%), Constipation 13 (12.6%), and Constipation &#38; urinary incontinence &#38; fecal incontinence &#38; urinary retention 13 (12.6%). Urinary incontinence was more common in girls comparison to boys (p&#60;0.05).&#160; 
Conclusion: &#160;Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction is common in children with urinary tract infection. Due to the relatively high prevalence of asymptomatic UTIs in children, screening of children for Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction symptoms and treatment, and prevention of infection become more significant.

			<abstract>
			Aims: Because of the increasing prevalence of fungal infections and antifungal resistance, researchers are seeking new antifungal medications and alternatives. This study aimed to assess the antifungal and anti-biofilm propertie of Myrtus communis L. essential oil and effect of hydroalcoholic extract on Candida species isolated from clinical specimens.
Materials &#38; Methods: A total of 65 Candida species isolated from clinical samples were evaluated in this study. The chemical composition of the essential oil was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Besides, the antifungal and biofilm activity of M. communis against Candida isolates was compared with that of fluconazole 
Findings: A total of 22 compounds, displaying 99.88% of the Myrtus Communis leaves OE, were identified and the major components were found to be &#945;-pinene (51.22%), eucalyptol (16.88%), linalool (15.92%), and linalool acetate (4.03%). The main components of fruit EO were nonadecane (44.00%), heneicosane (19.60%), &#945;-pinene (12.80%), and eucalyptol (10.08%). The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the hydroalcoholic extract of M. communis was lower against C. parapsilosis compared to C. albicans and C. glabrata. Biofilm formation in different Candida strains was inhibited at M. communis essential oil concentrations of 2.5-0.0156&#181;l/mL. 
Conclusion: M. communis exhibited considerable antifungal effects against Candida species. Also, the inhibitory effect of M. communis essential oil against C. albicans biofilm formation was higher than that of fluconazole.

			<abstract>
			Aims: During the COVID-19 epidemic, the stress and anxiety of nurses were high due to the rapid transmission of the disease. Studies show the effectiveness of the Jacobsen relaxation technique in stress and anxiety control. This study aimed to determine the effect of Jacobsen&#39;s relaxation technique on the anxiety and job stress of nurses caring COVID-19 patients.
Materials &#38; Methods:&#160;This clinical trial was carried out on 70 nurses caring for COVID-19 patients in 2021-2022. The subjects were assigned to control and intervention groups by random block sampling. After designing the Jacobsen relaxation application, it was installed on the mobile phones of the subjects in the intervention group. The subjects of the intervention group were asked to perform the Jacobsen relaxation technique 30 minutes every day for one month, whereas the control group did not receive any intervention. The anxiety scale of Spielberger&#39;s state and Esipow occupational stress questionnaires were filled out by the subjects of the two groups before, immediately, and one month after the intervention. Data were analyzed using repeated analysis of variance, Chi-square, and independent T tests through SPSS 19 software.
Findings: No significant difference was observed in situational and characteristic anxiety and job stress between two groups at different times (p&#62;0.05). There was no significant difference between the average anxiety and occupational stress between the groups at different times (p&#62;0.05).
Conclusion: The use of the Jacobsen relaxation technique using a mobile application cannot improve the anxiety and occupational stress of nurses.

			<abstract>
			Aims: Repeated pregnancy loss (RPL) is commonly considered as &#8805;3 fetal losses previously 20 weeks of gestation. Vitamin D has an important role on immune inflection at the maternal‑fetal part. Though, vitamin D can be utilized as a useful approach to treat patients with repeated pregnancy loss. There was lack of consensus on prescribing Vitamin D during pregnancy to prevent pregnancy complications. However, the present study was conducted to compare the effect of low and high dose of Vitamin D on to prevent pregnancy complications.&#160;&#160; 
Materials &#38; Methods: We conducted a single-blinded, randomized controlled trial in Yasuj, Iran, to assess the influence of different doses of vitamin D supplement through pregnancy in women on pregnancy and birth outcomes (preterm births and stillbirths, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes and low birth weight, 
Findings: Patients (n=150) in their first trimester were enrolled and randomized to two groups of vitamin D supplementation; 500IU/day (group A; n=70) and 2000IU/day (group B; n=70). 131 patients completed the intervention. Maternal vitamin D supplementation&#8201;&#8201;2000IU/day had a positive effect only on gestational diabetes mellitus, spontaneous miscarriage and preeclampsia and preterm births but there was no statistically significant difference between two groups (p&#62;0.05).
Conclusion: Increasing dose from 500 units to 2000 units per day does not increase the effectiveness of vitamin D to decrease pregnancy complications. Vitamin D supplementation (500&#8201;IU/day) appeared sufficient to reduce the risk of pregnancy complications as well as the higher dose.

			<abstract>
			Aims: Chest X ray is the first choice for the investigation of cardiovascular and respiratory disease. Radiographer technologists are responsible for managing the radiation exposure to patients and providing adequate image quality according to the ALARA (As Low as Radiation Achievable) concept. The knowledge and skills of radiographers in performing chest radiography helps to improve the diagnosis of diseases. The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge and skills of Radiographers on digital chest radiography in medical imaging departments.&#160;&#160; 
Instrument &#38; Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out on 65 of radiographers of Yasuj teaching hospitals, which were selected by the census sampling method. The knowledge was measured by the researcher- made questionnaire, and the checklist was used for measuring the skills of the radiographers. 390 digital chest radiographs were assessed during and after each procedure. Each radiography was analyzed by two expert radiologists and researchers according to the checklist, and the knowledge was analyzed with SPSS software version 21.
Findings: The mean values of the radiographers&#8217; knowledge and skills were 85.48&#177;6.48 and 78.79&#177;8.99 (out of 100), respectively. 5.38% of digital chest radiography (21 of 390) led to repetition.&#160; 
Conclusion: Although the awareness and performance of the radiographers in the present study are appropriate, radiographers should be properly trained on digital chest radiography for reducing the patient radiation dose and improve image quality and radiological interpretation.
