en Pruritus and Pain in Burn Patients After Skin Grafting: Prevalence, Characteristics, and Clinical Implications Medical-Surgical Care Medical-Surgical Care پژوهشی اصيل Original Research Aims: Pruritus and pain are common complications of burn injury and skin grafting. This study aimed to assess the prevalence and severity of these symptoms in burn patients who underwent autologous skin grafting. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 29 burn patients who underwent autologous skin grafting at Shahid Beheshti Hospital, Yasuj, Iran. Pain and pruritus were assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and symptom severity was summarized descriptively. Findings: The participants had a mean age of 31.62 ± 20.26 years, and 55.2% were female. Pruritus was reported by 26 of 29 participants (89.7%), including 9 (31.0%) with moderate and 7 (24.1%) with severe pruritus. Overall, 16 participants (55.1%) experienced moderate-to-severe itching. Pain severity was generally lower: 21 participants (72.4%) reported mild pain, while 2 (6.9%) reported moderate pain and 3 (10.3%) reported severe pain. Five participants (17.2%) experienced moderate-to-severe pain. Conclusion: Pruritus was highly prevalent and more frequently moderate-to-severe than pain in this study of patients who underwent autologous skin grafting.
